LVA Cape-Atlantic:

  • Improves the literacy of both current and future generations since 1983.
    • Investing in Adult literacy helps children. The single greatest indicator if children’s success is the literacy level of their parents. Children of parents with low literacy skills are far less prepared than their peers and have a 72% chance of being at the lowest reading levels themselves.
  • Provides basic skills and English as a Second language tutoring at no cost to the student using volunteer tutors.
  • Matches students with tutors at a mutually convenient times and locations through out Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
  • Offers a broad spectrum of literacy skills in addition to listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
    • Conversation, Civics,  Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, and Computer Literacy.
